HASTINGS BOULEVARD CAR SHOW & CHURCH TOURS

This will be the ninth year that Christ UMC has hosted the Hastings Boulevard Car Show.  Our church had a vision of filling our Main Street with cars and giving the community an opportunity to come together and remind ourselves and visitors what a great place our Little Big Town is...and fill our downtown up we do!  Our surrounding car clubs and classic car people bring their best for a showdown to compete for trophies and have a great time!  Enjoy the food that our local churches and clubs serve up, check out vendors and/or take our church tour while you're checking out some of the best classic cars and trucks in our area AND a little town that's growing with great new businesses.  All of our new area businesses will be open on Main Street, so make sure to visit them also!  This is a family friendly event that all ages enjoy.  And it's free to visitors!  

Registration for cars:  Pre-register with Shelly at owenassocs@aol.com.  You can also register on the day of, but there is a 75-car limit and we fill up fast!  Cars come in at St. Johns Avenue side of Main Street.  We shut down Main Street at 9:00 a.m., so be ready on the day of with $25 cash/check entry (no electronic payment available) so we can get you parked by 10:00 cut-off time.  

Sponsorship:  Sponsors get their name on the signage, get one trophy to award, advertising in the car show participants' ditty bags AND get year-round advertising on the Hastings Boulevard Car Show Facebook page.  Big Dawgs are $500, Hot Rods are $250.  Make sure you get your sponsorship in before the deadline for the banner and trophies!

Pre-staging and car show participants begin at 9:00 a.m.  (This is when Main Street is shut down for traffic.)

Car Show begins for visitors at 10:00 a.m. through 3:00 p.m.  Colby Dennis will be spinning the music for us again this year.  Our local judges and sponsors will be judging for trophies, but tickets will also be available for purchase for the People's Choice trophy, and kids vote for free for the Kids Choice trophy.

Trophy presentations begin at 2:30 p.m.  Main Street opens back up at approximately 3:00 p.m.

QUICK TIPS:

This is a classless show.  Everyone has a chance to win as in addition to overall winners by our hometown judges, the sponsors all have a trophy to give away, in addition to People's Choice and Kids' Choice!  Trophies are announced at 2:30 p.m.

Car Entries with Day-Of Registration:

It's $25 cash/check made to CUMC.

Once we have you parked, for obvious safety purposes, you cannot leave before 3:00 p.m.  Please...this is a part of our agreement with the County.

50/50:  50/50 tickets are available for purchase at the CUMC tent, and can be purchased up until the drawings and trophy awards begin at 2:30 p.m.  Must be present to win!

Kids' Choice Award:  ALL KIDS should come by the CUMC tent and get their ballot to vote for their favorite vehicle!  There's a trophy for someone...let the children vote!

People's Choice Award:  Make sure your bag is attached to vehicle so everyone can vote on you!  You also have a ticket in your bag to vote with, but if you want to help your chances...People's Choice tickets are available to buy at the CUMC tent!  Make sure your bag is turned into the CUMC tent by 2:00 p.m. so we can count them!

Church Tours:  We will have Christ United Methodist Church tours from 10:30 - 2:00.  It's free!  Come down and check out our beautiful 1917 sanctuary and learn about our church and Hastings history.

Our Food is Yummy!  CUMC will have freshly fried fish sandwiches at Gator's Hardware on Main.  Across the street the Masons will have hot dogs/sausages and french fries, Hastings Panthers Youth League will have wings, and Francis Baptist Church will have sweets.  You also will want to check out our new businesses...Hastings Coffee for coffee and food, Hastings Nutrition for a pick-me-up, Holcomb's for clam chowder to take home, Norma D's and Hastings Pizza for a sit-down!  Crazy Veteran for peanuts and Sade for lemonades and bottled drinks are by the bank in Vendor's Alley!
